Richard A. Joel, Sr.

Mr. Joel received his undergraduate degree in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and an MBA from New York University. In 1964, Mr. Joel received a law degree from New York University and then a masters in law from New York University in 1967.

Mr. Joel is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia as well as the Federal District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Joel is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

In November 2003, Mr. Joel was elected to the position of Councilman in the Borough of Oradell, New Jersey.

Richard A. Joel, Jr.

Richard received his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from Villanova University in 1989 and 1992, respectively. Mr. Joel is admitted to the Bars of the State of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania; the Federal District Court for the Districts of New Jersey, the Eastern District of New York and the Southern District of New York and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Joel has been associated with the firm since 1992 and became a Partner in 1996. Richard served as the Public Defender for the Borough of Oradell between 2001 and 2004. Mr. Joel is actively involved with the Oradell Lions Club (a member and has served as President, Vice President, Treasurer and a Trustee), Valley Toastmasters (a member and has served as President, Vice President and Treasurer), Ridgewood Republican Club, and Republican County Committee, and Ridgewood Voter Participation Committee (a member and has served as the Chairperson).

He has also served as Trustee for The HLA Registry Foundation, Inc., Oradell Lions Club, and the Advisory Board for Camp Marcella – New Jersey Camp for Blind Children and Counsel to several non-profit corporations including the Breast Cancer Connection, Inc., Tony Kyasky Fund, Inc., New Jersey Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Association, Inc. and The HLA Registry Foundation, Inc.

Lawrence A. Joel

Mr. Joel received his undergraduate degree form Boston College in 1987 and his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1990. Larry became associated with the firm in 1990 and was named a Partner in 1996.

Mr. Joel is an Adjunct Professor at Bergen Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law Practice Groups of the New Jersey State and Bergen County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Section.

Sachin Bhatt

Mr. Bhatt has been associated with the firm since 2004. Sachin received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2001 and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2006. Mr. Bhatt was on the Editorial Board of the Seton Hall Law Review and a judicial extern for the Honorable Joseph A. Greenway Jr., United States District Judge, and a summer intern in the patent law department at Johnson & Johnson. Sachin’s prior work experience also includes a position with Human Genome Sciences, Inc. Mr. Bhatt is admitted to the Bars of the States of New Jersey and New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
